  • QSS students present at MPSA annual meeting

    April 19, 2019

    Genna Liu and Jennifer Wu, both members of the Class of 2019 at Dartmouth College who are writing honors theses in the Program in Quantitative Social Science recently presented their projects at the 2019 Annual Meeting of the Midwest Political Science Association. This Chicago conference brings together faculty from across the country who are working on contemporary political science issues.  The vast majority of presenters are faculty and graduate students.

  • Postdoctoral fellow Jun Zhao accepts tenure track at Georgia State

    Jun Zhao presents at ASA

    Jun Zhao, who has been a postdoctoral fellow in the Program in Quantitative Social Science (QSS) since July 2017, recently accepted a tenure track position in the Department of Sociology at Georgia State University. Prior to joining QSS, where she teaches a class in network analysis, Jun completed her doctorate at the University of Georgia in 2017.

  • Professor Horiuchi at Chiba University

    December 21, 2018

    Yusaku Horiuchi, QSS Steering Committee member, Professor of Government and Mitsui Professor of Japanese Studies, was recently invited by Chiba University in Japan to give a special lecture, "Introduction to Data Science." About 80 first-year students in the college of liberal arts and sciences attended. The talk covered Professor Horiuchi's recent articles and various ways to collect and analyze quantitative data to study Japanese history, culture, and society.

  • QSS scholars present at Harvard

    Program in Quantitative Social Science (QSS) faculty members John Carey and Yusaku Horiuchi and QSS pre-doctoral fellow Katie Clayton gave a presentation on September 27, 2018, at a Harvard University seminar series called Universities: Past, Present, and Future.
