Imai and Olmsted co-teach an undergraduate course at Princeton on data visualization (DV). With support from a new Dartmouth initiative to strengthen the quantitative social sciences, they will visit campus, on June 6 (Imai) and on June 9-10 (Olmsted). They will deliver four workshop sessions on DV techniques. The sessions will be paired with lab exercises. During their visits, Imai and Olmsted will also present original research in seminars that all workshop participants will be invited to attend.
The workshop will include Lab sessions and DV exercises using the R software package (http://www.r-project.org/). Participants who do not have prior experience with R are encouraged to devote some effort before the workshop so as to gain basic competence in R. For Stata users, tutorial materials are available here:
The workshop is open to Dartmouth faculty at no charge, thanks to a generous gift aimed at supporting the quantitative social sciences at Dartmouth. Registration indicates a commitment to attend and participate. To reserve a slot, email Chris Gex by Friday, April 4.
