QSS professor makes it on Forbes 30 under 30

The Program in Quantitative Social Science (QSS) is thrilled to announce that Assistant Professor Herbert Chang made the Forbes 30 under 30 North America 2024 list for Science. Professor Chang, a Dartmouth alum from the Class of 2018, received his Ph.D. in Communications from the University of Southern California in 2023. His research is centered on democracy and social media, with a particular focus on understanding out-group engagement on social media.  Recent articles are Scalable surveillance of e-cigarette products on Instagram and TikTok using computer vision in Nicotine & Tobacco Research and K-pop fandoms help drive COVID-19 public health messaging on social media in Online Social Networks and Media.

Professor Chang joined the QSS faculty in July 2023 and taught QSS 20: Modern Statistical Computing. He will teach this course in Spring 2024 as well.
