Postdoctoral Fellowship

Dartmouth College is pleased to announce that it is searching for a 2015-2016 academic year postdoctoral fellow in the area of quantitative social science. The fellow will be formally affiliated with the Program in Mathematics and Social Sciences (MSS), an interdisciplinary program that integrates modern statistical and computational research techniques with contemporary social science questions. The successful fellow should have a research record that demonstrates independence and initiative and is grounded methodologically in statistics or other computational techniques.

During the 2015–2016 academic year the MSS fellow will teach one course on a subject of his or her choosing, will be mentored by faculty associated with MSS, and will participate in the intellectual life of MSS, for example, attending seminars and consulting with faculty and honors students on ongoing research. The stipend for the MSS fellow is $60,000 with a $5,000 account available for equipment, travel, and research materials. The fellowship can be extended through the 2016–2017 academic year, subject to negotiation between the fellow and the chair of MSS.

  5. A demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary research.
